TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Control Joints
Sealant

Any section of a slab that incorporates construction joints or points where controlled cracking is anticipated, shall be protected by Termicide Sealant placed to a minimum depth of 6mm and a minimum width of 6mm, in a smooth sided void adjoining the jointor groove. The bottom of the void should be sealed withsuitable packing material or retainer ifthere isa possibilityof the Termicide Sealant escaping from the bottom of the joint. Anticipated jointmovement should be no greater than the elastic recovery or bonding abilityof the flexiblesealant material.
The TermicideSealant barrier formed to protect construction jointsshould extend for the fulllength of the jointand interface effectivelywithother termite barriers protecting the building perimeter.

Installation Steps
- Saw cut to remove hydrated concrete
- Clean the areas to be jointed by wiping witha fresh dry cloth.
Check for and remove any burrsor irregularities.N.B.some substrates may require priming with white spirits. ,
- Position backing rods
- Apply a continuous bead of termicide sealant completely filling the void, free of air bubbles.
- The minimum acceptable joint depth is6mm therefore, if the, required joint width is 6mm then the depth is also 6mm.

Dowelled Joint

A bead of Termicide Sealant is applied to the joint after both slabs have been poured.

KeyJoint
* The builder or concretor insertsa 12mm x 6mm rubber mould over the Connolly KeyJoint
* Remove the mould once both slabs have been poured creating a groove on top of the keyjoint.
*A bead of Termicide Sealant isapplied to the top of the key joint.

SAW CUTS
Installation Steps
- Clean the areas to be jointed by wiping with a fresh dry cloth. Check for and remove any burrs or irregularities. N.B.some substrates may require priming with white spirits.
- Apply a continuous bead of termicide sealant completely filling the saw cut. Ensure that it is free of air bubbles.
- The minimum acceptable joint depth is 6mm, therefore I if the required joint width is 6mm then the depth is also 6mm.

TILT-UP PANELS

Installation Steps
- Clean the areas to be jointed by wiping witha clean dry cloth. Check for and remove any burrsor irregularities. N.B.Some substrates may require priming with
white spirits.
- Applybacking foam to joint allowing for a minimum sealant depth of 6mm.
- Gun a bead of Termicide into joint ensuring no air bubbles are present. Check to ensure the joint issealed both verticallyand horizontally.Wipe off exposed face to ensure a smooth continuous join

ANT CAPPING

Fill the gap between the hold down rod/bolt and the ant cap. Alsoused to lap join ant capping.

Termicide Sealant requiresthree steps:
Clean, Treat and Clamp.

1. First clean the areas to be jointed (minimum 35mm overlap) by wiping with a fresh, dry cloth. Check for and remove any burrsor irregularities. N.B. Some substratesmay require priming (White Spirits).

2 Treat the areas with Termicide Sealant so that a coating uniformly covers the entire joint. Bring the two surfaces together and visually inspect, ensuring that there iscomplete contact.

3 Clamp the joint with a brick, sandbag or other clamping device for not less than five minutes.

Traditional ant capping can be joined simply using a minimum 6mm bead of
Termicide selant. The bead can be either applied between the joint as in
Picture 1 or applied to the surface of the joint as in picture 2.

POLYSTYRENE PANELS

Used to fill the gap between tilt up panels and the control joint between the tilt up panel and concrete slab.

Installation Steps

- Before the panel is put in place - get the 3m long PVC brackets TS-poly-bracket
- Ensurethat the outer edge of the bracket iscorrectly located to receive the panel.
- Apply two continuous 6mm bead of termicide sealant to the lower surface of the bracket adjacent to the slab vertical edge - refer to diagram below.

COLD JOINTS

Installation Steps

A cold joint is where a concrete slab is poured up against an existing structure, usually another slab.

- Clean the areas to be jointed by wiping witha fresh dry cloth. Check for and remove any burrs or irregularities. N.B. some substrates may require priming with white spirits. In this case the Tpiece will be glued to the existing slab.
- Apply a continuous bead of termicide sealant to the back of the T-piece. Ensure that it is free of air bubbles.
- Nail the Tpiece in place witha track fast nail gun. At 600mm centres.
- Run a bead of Termicide sealant into the top bevel of the Tpiece to complete the r seal.
- A bead of Termicide sealant must also be gunned into the top & sides of the joint.
